Even the heavens are crying for David John Howard Thompson this morning.
An overcast sky was in apparent argument with brilliant sunshine from before 7 a.m., for which would take the lion’s share of weather attention at today’s state funeral.
But Barbadians, by the thousands, are lining up outside the historic Kensington Oval to say goodbye to this country’s sixth Prime Minister.
Long lines have already formed out side both entrances of Kensington.
Hundreds, with the intention of getting a bird’s eye view of proceedings inside, had started lining up even before the gates opened at 7 a.m.
Scores of specially chartered buses continue to make their way to and from Kensington.
Specially invited guests from CARICOM as well as other foreign dignitaries are expected at the Oval shortly, headed by newly appointed Prime Minister, Freundel Stuart and the rest of Cabinet..
