Minister of Finance Chris Sinckler has described the Budget Reply by Opposition leader Owen Arthur as a speech of “déjà vu”.
“I called it the Days of Our Lives Budget Reply” he said as he gave the wrap up to the Budget late Wednesday night.
Sinckler said the economist did not do what he was required to do when he delivered his Reply on Tuesday after the Budget the previous day.
The Minister said he was disappointed with the presentation Arthur gave in the House of Assembly.
In reference to the Barbados Labour Party leader, Sinckler said there was a lot of hype of the “great economist”.
“There was talk about the return of the Messiah and the second coming” he said.
“We were told that this economist guru was going to deliver a great pathway to restore Barbados’ growth,” he said.
Instead, he said Arthur never delivered, but rambled through his presentation. (CM)
