CORONER Faith Marshall-Harris’ investigation of the deaths of a family of five at Arch Cot, Brittons Hill, St Michael, in 2007 resumes on January 14.
The coroner announced a six-week adjournment yesterday after visiting the area where two adults and three children perished in a building collapse.
She hoped that when the probe resumed she would be able to make contact with several people who had knowledge related to the tragedy and the area.
She included Professor Hans Machel, specialist in earth and atmospheric sciences at the University of Alberta, Canada.
Machel had said during a lecture hosted by the Barbados Museum & Historical Society in January last year it was gross negligence that caused the Arch Cot tragedy.
Machel is expected to be in Barbados in January.
Marshall-Harris said she also wanted to talk to several people who had witnessed the tragedy or had important information on it.
She admitted that her court had not been able to reach many of them because they had moved on from the temporary addresses given soon after the tragedy.
Among those she has asked to come forward are Seon Brathwaite, Renaldo Simmons, Oneeka Lewis, Mark Matthias, Tyrone Harrison, Peter Cox, Suel Whitehall, Lisa St John, Lucy Burnett, Lionel Benn, Michael Gibson, Kendrick Gill, Herbert Burnett, Shernelle Brathwaite and Bonita Medford.
The others are James Cumberbatch, Dorian Simpson, Edna Bellamy, Rosemary Boyce, Stanley McDonald, Charles Whittaker, Alvin Best, Donald Tull, Emily Anderson, Cheryl Benn and Paula Brewster. (TY)
