Two-time Caribbean Volleyball MVP Shari Matthews heads off to the former Communist state of Romania tomorrow to take up what has been described as a very exciting and rewarding professional contract with Sport Club Municipal in the city of Craiova.
The 25-year-old Matthews, a graduate of Springer Memorial School and North Carolina Central University, where she gained a Bachelor in business management, told Nation Sports that she was very excited about taking up the contract which will run until May. Even more pleasing is that the team has not seen Matthews spike or serve a ball and she is already signed for a full second season running from October 2011 until May 2012.
Matthews will leave with her local team Rockets ending second in the knockouts and mixing it up in the middle of the league table. (KB)
