Fifteen athletes from Springer Memorial School escaped serious injury this afternoon when the van they were travelling in was involved in an accident at the junction of Station Hill and Leincester Road in St Michael. The accident occurred around 2:15 p.m.
Five students were taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital while the other ten were taken to the Winston Scott Polyclinic. The students were also assessed on the scene by two medical doctors.
Dozens of onlookers flocked to the scene, where emergency personnel were busy getting the situation under control.
