At about an hour after the scheduled 7 p.m. finish, Sharon Primary School Choir was crowned winner of the 2011 Schools’ Choir Competition last night at the Wildey Gymnasium.
Sharon outsang 12 other primary schools to cop the coveted title.
The St Thomas school had earlier won prizes for Best Rendition, Best Arrangement, Best Solo and Most Dynamic.
The choir’s performance of a medley of old-time gospel was enough to convince the judges.
Also basking in the glow was Christ Church Foundation Choir, which won the secondary schools’ segment from two other schools. (TTY)
