I have done this exercise numerous times and each time I have come to the same conclusion. I am curious to find out if your conclusion is similar to mine.
If you are standing, I need you to sit, close your eyes and just think about your family, your community, your work colleagues, your friends and this nation.
Do you reach the same conclusion that the irresponsible use of a penis and a vagina has messed up tons of people’s lives? That premarital sex, “promiscuity” and adultery have caused so much pain in the lives of hundreds, thousands, even millions of people?
Think about the number of marriages, relationships and friendships that have been destroyed. Think about the number of men who commit or try to commit suicide. Think about the number of females whose hearts are crushed.
Think about the number of children who are torn between parents who are divorced. Think about the number of children who suffer daily as a result of neglect as a result of unwanted births.
Think about the number of children who are aborted every day because of unwanted pregnancies. Think about all those people who had to abandon school. Think about the shame, guilt and embarrassment people live with all their lives. Think about all the careers that have been ruined. Think about all the people who have been used, misused and abused.
Think about all the single-parent homes. Think about how the spread of viruses and diseases has significantly increased. All of this because of irresponsible Mr Penis and Ms Vagina.
Sex is good. Actually, sex is great, but we see it can cause great pain, shame, guilt and resentment once taken outside the boundaries for which it was created. Some may view boundaries as limitations or hindrances, but boundaries have two purposes: to keep things in and also to keep things out.
Let’s say you are right, Rev. Morris, and sex before marriage is not a sin. In publicly sharing your “thesis”, does your statement have the potential to do more good or harm to the social development of this country?
Over the last week, I have received numerous emails, calls, text, Facebook and BB messages. People have shared with me that their families, work colleagues and children are aggressively debating the issue of having sex before marriage.
It should be noted that Charles Morris did not identify which age group his statement refers to and as a result, children are also accepting and agreeing with his thesis. Worship is personal, private and involves two persons: you and God.

Both worship and sex are physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual.
There is a point during worship where you become vulnerable. It is at that point some people cry, dance or speak in tongues. It is at that point that your spirit connects with God’s and there is a transferal, renewal and a release.
There is a point during sex where you become vulnerable. It is at this point – orgasm – that some people scream, shake or stutter. It is here that there is a transferal and release also.
Sex is to be respected, protected and honoured. Either you will control your genitals or they will control you.
