House debate on radio, TV

Barbadians will be able?to listen to and watch a special live radio and television simulcast from the House of Assembly today at 10 a.m. of debate on?Government’s $583 million five-year human resource development strategy.
A resolution to permit the debate will be moved by?Minister of Education and Human Resource Development Ronald Jones, while St Michael North East MP and former Leader of the Opposition?Mia Mottley will respond.
Cabinet approved the 2011-2016 strategy last?December 16 and notice of the resolution was given on?March 8 this year with the 138-page document being laid in Parliament the following Tuesday.
According to the executive summary of the document, four components underpinned the concept of human resource development: educational attainment, workforce skills, population health, and the set of employment policies that connect people to business enterprises with the required skills to reap the maximum benefit from economic opportunities.
