POLICE HAVE BEEN called in to investigate the disappearance of more than $500 000 from the Government’s Treasury Department.
The money is believed to have been siphoned off through cheque payments.
Crime chief Assistant Comissioner of Police Seymour Cumberbatch yesterday confirmed the investigation of the Government department but declined further comment at this stage.
Acting Accountant General Dane Coppin when contacted yesterday refused to comment on the development. (TS)
