Adrian Clarke’s critical lyrics

PRIME MINISTER Freundel Stuart may not regularly visit calypso tents, and it is not known whether he is a calypso aficionado, but he is good for lyrical material.
Not surprisingly, calypsonians have picked up on the criticisms coming from various stakeholders on how Stuart has been performing since he took up office last year and on his reluctance to speak on certain issues.
One calypso that has been the subject of many conversations around Barbados since its release two weeks ago on Bajantube is Adrian Clarke’s We Need An Answer, but popularly known as Freundel.
The song shot up to No. 1 on Bajantube’s weekly Top 20 after just a week on the charts. This is unusual for a social commentary calypso. On the website many Bajans expressed their liking for the song and all believed that Clarke should take the crown in the Pic-O-De-Crop finals. (DB)
