The talent that promised so much has finally delivered on local cycling’s biggest stage, as the transcendent 20-year-old couldn’t have picked a better time to win his first senior circuit race after capturing yesterday’s national road race title on the Top Rock course.
It was the defining moment of what was previously just thought of as a promising career of a young rider who consistently performed well overseas but never captured the “big one” at home. (JM)
