Travel agents: Too far, too costly

BARBADOS is too far away and travelling to the island is too expensive.
Those were two of the reasons some travel agents visiting the island recently gave when asked why they were here for only the first time.
Their comments came during a cultural seminar at the Concorde Experience, Christ Church, last Saturday.
The seminar was part of Mega Fam, a package of activities for overseas travel agents to interact with local hoteliers and tour operators and learn more about the island.
The event, organised by the Barbados Tourism Authority (BTA), involved more than 300 travel agents from around the world.  (MM)
