Mud in mas

Thousands of revellers were out to play mas’ in this morning’s Foreday Morning Jam.
Covered in paint, mud, chocolate syrup, lace tights, netty stockings, shorts and mainly pumps and sneakers, revellers made off from the Princess Alice Highway in The City and filled the streets for more than five hours, in what turned out to be one of the biggest jams in the last few years.
Bands on the road included 1 Trini and a Bajan, Jambalassie, Colourz, Rumatology, Ackshun and Steel Donkey.
As they moved along the route, light blue skies appeared and the first signs of daybreak filled the Harbour Road area.
As the music trucks blared this year’s popular tunes such as Li’l Rick’s Crazy People and Work, Red Plastic Bag’s Once Upon A Wine and Biggie Irie’s Dis Ting Cyan Be Over mixed with hits from previous years, the crowds gyrated and paced themselves as they moved down to Spring Garden Highway.
