Barbados will experience its biggest moment – musically – as it hosts the LOUD Rihanna show at 7:30 p.m. at the Caribbean’s cricketing mecca Kensington Oval.
In what will certainly be the country’s grandest concert and arguably its biggest technological production, LOUD will be staged before 25 000 fans and a few million more on the World Wide Web. And at centrestage will be the world’s most sought after pop artiste and Barbadian daughter Robyn Rihanna Fenty, who is booked to thrill fans with 90 minutes of hit songs and risqué dance moves.
If the Met Office’s predictions of a mostly sunny day hold true, the success of this concert is expected to reverberate in the tourism industry over the next few years, especially at Crop Over, whose climax Kadooment is now a by-word across the globe.
And while millions on Facebook, Twitter and other social media networks are calling it “Kingdooment”, their excitement has been the mere sight of Rihanna playing mas’ on the road last Monday.
