LEG-SPINNERS Kelia Elliott and Shaquana Quintyne returned career-best figures as Barbados crushed Dominica by seven wickets in round two of the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) Women’s 50-Overs Championship at Banks Brewery yesterday.
Playing in Zone B, the pair sent down ten overs each with Elliott bagging five for 25 and Quintyne four for 23, as Dominica were routed for a miserly 73 in 27.3 overs.
In reply, Barbados raced to victory with 38.3 overs to spare, scoring 74 for three from 11.3 overs, just before the luncheon interval.
Opener Danielle Small lashed 23, at better than a run-a-ball with two fours, one through square-leg and one powerfully struck down the ground. However, she was caught at the wicket cutting at one too close off Pearl Etienne (two for 20). (EH)
