THE Barbados Association of Medical Practitioners (BAMP) will not seek to “inflict” any financial burden on the Queen Elizabeth Hospital when negotiations are held next week at the Martindales Road health institution.
In an email sent to doctors yesterday and obtained by the MIDWEEK?NATION, Dr?Carlos Chase, president of BAMP, wrote: “The Barbados Association of Medical Practitioners has agreed to meet with the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Tuesday, August 30, the date they have proposed following their meeting with the Minister of Health Donville Inniss, ministry and QEH Board on July 15.”
The circular said at that meeting the minister proposed that negotiations should be concluded by the end of August.
The email said BAMP had been very patient and was cognizant of the economic situation facing Barbados and the need for a cooperative effort to move Barbados forward. (JG)
