PORT-OF-SPAIN – Prime Minister Kamla Persad Bissessar was rushed to hospital today after complaining of feeling unwell.
A brief statement issued by the Office of the Prime Minister said that she had been taken to the private St Clair Medical Hospital, on the outskirts of the capital. The statement said that the 60-year-old head of government “is presently undergoing medical assessment, examinations and evaluation” at the hospital “following complaints of feeling unwell”.
“She is resting comfortably,” the statement said, adding that further updates will be provider later yesterday.
Last month, the Prime Minister was diagnosed with dengue fever. (CMC)
