Turkey shortfall for Christmas

Turkey lovers in Barbados may find themselves hard up this Christmas.
Barbados Agricultural Society president Wendell Clarke said it did not look like turkeys would be plentiful near year-end.
“We have had challenges earlier in the year with turkeys. I suspect that there’s a great possibility that turkeys might be a little short in supply for Christmas,” he said.
Clarke was speaking during a media briefing yesterday at the Grantley Adams International Airport concerning how Barbados had copped top prize in the annual International Egg Commission (IEC) Competition.
As for chicken and eggs, he said there should be no concern on those fronts as Barbados was on track as far as those commodities were concerned.
