Barbados is still tops for holiday home

While Barbados remains one of the most expensive holiday spots, it still ranks high among the best places where British tourists are buying holiday homes.
In its annual Long-Haul Report, Post Office Travel Money in England – which presents a survey of prices across leading holiday destinations worldwide – ranked Barbados 22nd among 28 countries when it comes to affordable long-haul spots.
In examining a typical basket of ten items including a bottle of water, beer, sun cream, insect repellant and a three-course meal for two with wine, Sri Lanka came out as the Best Value Destination for the second year in a row.
The report found that prices were down by a third on the Indian Ocean island, making it an ideal destination for budget-conscious British travellers during the winter season.
