Chairman?of the?Barbados Tourism Authority, Adrian Elcock, wants Barbadians to focus less on criticizing and pulling down and more on supporting their own.
Elcock, who was the featured speaker last Saturday night at the installation ceremony for the Kiwanis Clubs in Barbados, said it was important to believe “in the capacity of our people as it is our people that will help us to weather any economic storm”.
He added: “It is our people that will help shape a new economy, while helping to maintain our existing economy . . . .”
He said that he recognized Barbadians were ambitious, believed in themselves and their country and that any goal was attainable. However, he was worried that despite this zeal for success, the support for each other was often not there.
