Down memory lane

For most a visit to tropical Barbados is a happy occasion.
For Wilfredo Perez Jr it is a painful reminder of the day his childhood was disrupted.
He is the son of the pilot in the Cubana air disaster of October 6, 1976. And he is here to take part in a week of activities commemorating the tragedy. Perez was a little bit anxious about the visit and reliving the pain of the worst day of his life.
“When I was informed I would be coming, I thought it would be a difficult trip as it would mean having to relive those sad feelings of that time,” he told the DAILY NATION yesterday after a special service at St Mary’s Anglican Church in The City.
Here Perez talking about the effect of the plane crash.
