DEAR CHRISTINE – Gifts, sex and no love

Dear Christine,
I MET A MAN a couple years ago and immediately fell head over heels in love with him.
However, as time went on it became clear to me that this man, who was willing to shower me with gifts, trips and you name it, was after one thing – sex. As long as the sex was forthcoming, everything was fine. I started to feel unloved and used and I wanted things to change.
In September, I told him I was concerned about my spiritual walk; that I wanted to stop fornicating and longed to live a cleaner life.
I also started going to church.
Christine, from the time I did this, everything changed. His calls became less frequent and the weekly and monthly gifts ceased – not that I minded. For what shall it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his soul?
Christine, I am not hurt by this change because I know I am on the right road; but I am writing to encourage men and women alike not to allow any other human being to stop them from serving God.
He is mighty and awesome. There is no one in this world that we should put before Him; neither should we sell our souls for material things.
Some day we have to give God an account of what we did with our bodies and our time on earth.
Now I have some wonderful times and conversations with God, whom I can talk to 24/7 – and I am loving it!
– MISS PEACEFUL

Dear Miss Peaceful,
You have surely made the right decision and I believe it will bring you much happiness in the end. You are right; we should not sell our souls for the material or physical. After all, what will it profit any one to gain the whole world and lose his soul?
I am sure readers will benefit from your story.
– CHRISTINE
