Roberts’ prices steady, sales up

Roberts Manufacturing is reporting an increase in sales of two cooking ingredients, even in light of a difficult economic climate.
Yesterday, the company’s managing director David Foster said that for the year to date, sales volumes of margarine and vegetable oil had increased by five and ten per cent, respectively, when compared to the previous year.
However, he noted that commodity prices were impacting the company’s profits since it had been absorbing increases in terms of raw materials.
“We have been doing our utmost to hold prices. We do not expect to see any increases unless something happens in the new year that substantially increases the price of our raw materials,” he said.
