Just one hour and 16 minutes past midnight the first 2011 Independence Day baby in Barbados was born.
Weighing four pounds, 12 ounces, the baby girl was born to Kellyann Devonish (at right) of Mount Hillaby, St Andrew.
Devonish said though the delivery was a bit painful she was overjoyed that she had the first baby for this year’s Independence Day. Devonish is yet to decide on her daughter’s name.
The second baby, a boy, was delivered by Tanya Sealy (at left) who spoke highly of the work of the nurses and doctors in the delivery ward. (LK)
