Hundreds throng City store

Duty-free day was expected to be the Barbadian version of Black Friday – and this forecast turned out to be true for at least one department store.
By 5:30 a.m. dozens of shoppers had lined up outside Cave Shepherd Broad Street, eager to take advantage of the $1 000 duty-free allowance.
An hour later they were numbering in the hundreds and at 6:45 when the doors were finally opened, they rushed inside to get their favourite products, including perfumes, colognes and cosmetics.
Below, a typical scene on the ground floor of Cave Shepherd yesterday.
