Two killers who jointly spent over 50 years behind bars are now free.
Anthony “Nagga” Austin, 61 and Frank Anderson Carter, 60 were both released this evening from Dodds Prison in St Philip after spending 27 and 26 years respectively for the two murders.
As they walked through the prison gate, both men dressed in white shirts and black pants were emotional about their release after each spending nearly three decades in prison.
“It was a long road, it was a hard road, it wasn’t easy at all. I was praying for this day for the longest time to come and it finally come,” sighed Austin.
Carter said despite feeling good about his freedom, he wanted to appeal for the release of a number of long-term prisoners he left behind.
