‘It’s lifelong’ for Bjerkhamn

Johan?Bjerkhamn has been handed a lifelong sentence – “he will live with this tragedy for the rest of his life”.
These were the words of prominent attorney, Sir Richard Cheltenham, QC, as he emerged from the Holetown Magistrates’ Court yesterday with his high-profile client, Johan Bjerkhamn.
Bjerkhamn was sentenced to 240 hours of community service and two years’ probation in the death of his 11-year-old son Luke.
The boy died from a gunshot wound to the chest, sustained while Bjerkhamn was cleaning a gun at his home, at Leslie Gardens, Maynards, St Peter, on April 11 last year.
