Prime Minister Freundel Stuart is expected to hold a press conference today at Illaro Court to deal with the Alexandra School dispute which has now entered Day 20.
The press conference will be held at 12:30 p.m.
Barbados Secondary Teachers’ Union (BSTU) president Mary Redman said teachers would remain off the job today, and meet at the union’s headquarters in Belleville, St Michael.
She said however, that plans to escalate the action and involve more schools were suspended pending further discussions.
Just Friday afternoon, the BSTU with its attorney Hal Gollop met with Prime Minister Freundel Stuart at his Ilaro Court residence in Two Mile Hill, St Michael, and, according to Redman, those deliberations were “very, very productive”.
