St Leonard’s old boys spring surprise

Newcomers St Leonard’s Old Scholars stunned last year’s runners-up Alleyne Alumni with an eight-wicket victory in the Christ Church Foundation School Joel Garner Twenty20 tapeball cricket tournament at Briar Hall on Monday night.
All-rounder?Ryan Hinds took two wickets for nine runs off four overs with his left-arm spin and scored 28 not out.
He featured in a match-winning third-wicket partnership of 99 with fellow left-hander Jamel Harewood, who struck six fours and a six in an unbeaten 52, as the Richmond Gap side won with 6.2 overs to spare.
The tournament continues tonight with Foundation “C” Old Scholars opposing Combermere Old Scholars at Dover at 7 p.m.
