Valentine’s sales not so rosy

MAYBE LOVE WILL BE in the air today for those businesses depending on Valentine’s Day sales for some extra cash.
But yesterday, when the DAILY?NATION surveyed some outlets to find out how Valentine’s sales were going, the general chorus was that Cupid was not heeding their cries for help.
From the main shopping thoroughfare of Broad Street to bustling Swan Street, and from Bridgetown to Speightstown, St Peter, the story was the same: their sales pitch was not getting through to the lovers.
“Sales are not as high as over the years. People are more selective in what they are buying,”?said Sherrieann Estwick, a supervisor in the perfume department at Cave Shepherd.
