Show some respect for local artists.
This is the demand from well known Barbadian designer and artist Carol Cadogan-Fox, who has taken issue with the developers of a huge mural at Speightown, St Peter.
The project, which is nearing completion, is reportedly part of an outdoor extension to the Mango’s By The Sea restaurant.
However, it has already drawn the ire of Cadogan-Fox, who in a strongly-worded letter to the WEEKEND NATION pointed out that Barbados was home to many “outstanding, creative individuals, especially artists”.
She went as far as to single out Trevor Burnette and Anthony Payne, whom she described as “muralists extraordinaire”. (RL/JS)
