Bajan riders hold own

THE BARBADOS EQUESTRIAN TEAM of Heather Walker, Paige Tryhane and Erin Stephany, accompanied by national coach Di Clarke, defied the odds to perform creditably over the Easter weekend in Guadeloupe.
Heather Walker rode in the 1.20-metre class while Stephany and Tryhane competed in the 1.05-metre class, all on borrowed horses.
After the very stressful beginning, where they had to hurriedly get a letter of health insurance and a certificate of lodging before leaving, the trip was well worth it, Clarke said.
All three competitors rode exceptionally well over the two-day competition, keeping the Barbados Flag flying.
