“WE DREW the Twenty20 and One-Day International series and we are looking for nothing shorter than a win here – we’re not going to accept a draw.”
West Indies captain Darren Sammy was not trying to boost ticket sales for today’s third and final Digicel Test match against Australia here at Windsor Park when he made the statement yesterday to the media.
He was stating a realistic goal.
His side comes to this match 0-1 down on paper but just about par with Michael Clarke’s tourists, given the way the play has gone.
The positive intent displayed by both sides and their captains over the first two matches has almost guaranteed a grand finale,
once the weather holds.
 Australia, more in the habit of winning than the Windies, still hold the edge over their less-experienced opponents, who are more prone to batting collapses. But the determination shown by Sammy and his men since thefirst ODI in St Vincent last month cannot be discounted here.
