They had a ball!

The theme was Reach for the Net, but Barbados Workers’ Union netball queen Shekira Boxill and four other competitors went much higher in the BWU Netball Pageant that ended in a climax on Saturday night at Solidarity House.
Appearing in evening wear and futuristic netball sportswear, presenting talent, and responding to a question and answer section, the five girls gave good account of themselves, much to the delight of an appreciative audience, including BWU general secretary Sir Roy Trotman.
While Sir Roy was crowning Boxill, her overjoyed dad Junior Boxill was already on the stage dancing.
Shekira was extremely strong in the talent section, giving a dramatic presentation of how, with the help of family and other proper support, one could overcome personal tragedy and early pregnancy to realize one’s dream of helping Barbados dominate in netball.
