Danielle bangs 150 not out

Barbados’ women’s team opener Danielle Small seems to be sending a message to the West Indies selectors while taking a particular liking for the bowling of the Gloria Gill Dolphins.
A fortnight ago, the pugnacious Small smashed 150 for Pat Whittaker Pride against off the Dolphins in a 40-over match at The Alexandra School in St Peter in the Iris Walker Memorial Women’s Competition.
Then on Sunday, all-rounder Small, who switched from pace to spin bowling but has not found favour with the regional selectors for more than a year, was just as unkind to the Dolphins in the Twenty20 League at the YMPC ground.
Pride skittled out the Dolphins for 45 off of 18.1 overs, with the Dolphins fielding a depleted squad of just seven players. Pride then notched up 46 without loss in 3.2 overs with Small hammering 32 and Kycia Knight contributing 11.
Earlier Kycia’s twin sister Kyshona Knight hit 64 to carry Angela Harris Tridents to 167 for seven in their clash with Sagicor UWI Blackbirds. The Blackbirds failed to take flight toppling for 83 in 19.4 overs. (KB)
