Lewis takes lion’s share

Simon Lewis had the biggest bounty after the curtain came down on the first leg of the NASSCO/FORTRESS Junior Tennis Tournament recently at the National Tennis Centre, Wildey.
Lewis won the Boys’ Under-18 singles title, defeating Ajani King, 7-5, 6-4.
In the Under-16 division, Lewis and King beat Jared Spencer and Joshua Worme in three sets, 5-7, 6-3, 10-5. They also came from a set down after losing the tiebreaker in the Under-18 division to beat Spencer and Matthew Estwick, 6-7 (2), 6-0, 13-11.
Spencer got the better of King, 4-6, 6-4, 6-1 in the Under-16 singles.
The matches were competitive in all divisions, but organizers were heartened by the eagerness shown by those players in the Under-10 division.
