Windies Women take first ODI

IT’S NOT?all gloom and doom for the region’s cricket sides.
The West Indies Women cricketers are making sure of that.
While their male counterparts were being outplayed by the visiting Australians, the female regional side gave Sri Lanka a harsh welcome, romping to an 88-run win in the first ever One-Day International at Kensington Oval yesterday.
After winning the toss and choosing to bat first, the West Indies rattled up 228 for six in the 50 overs and then dismissed Sri Lanka for 140 off 42.3 overs.
