Waters run deep

Persistent afternoon showers in the north of the island on Wednesday evening caused severe flooding in some areas.
One such was Alleynedale in St Lucy where the water level on the road was so high that some motorists were forced to move at snail’s pace, or find an alternative road.
Up to midnight the waters were still high as some motorists braved the inconvenience and soggy conditions. Here, motorists having to take their time through the high waters at Alleynedale. (RL)
