Pedestrians and motorists should be relieved of the inconvenience they experience on the road between Deighton Griffith School and Aberdeen Jones Centre at Gall Hill, Christ Church by the end of November.
This was the word from Minister of Transport and Works John Boyce yesterday as he spoke to the media during a tour of the area where a $1.8 million road improvement project has been in progress for about six months.
The project includes the provision of sidewalks and correction of drainage problems. Boyce said there had been setbacks as a result of bad weather and financing issues, and the first phase of the project, which ends at Kingsland, was expected to be paved in the next two weeks, once there was good weather.
Boyce said his ministry acknowledged the inconvenience the project had caused residents, “but at same time, I think they all appreciate what we are trying to achieve in bettering the community”. (AH)
