Heavy afternoon showers drenched parts of the island yesterday, causing flooding in some areas.
Many people were seen in their rain gear as they travelled to their various destinations. Police reported a number of accidents and appealed to drivers to exercise more caution on the roads because of the heavy rainfall.
A number of planned events were are also cancelled.
