The Ministry of Health is undertaking its annual third booster vaccination programme.
This programme is geared for all children entering secondary school to immunize them against diphtheria, tetanus and poliomyelitis.
Health sister Jeanette Babb said there were four boosters in all – the first given at 18 months; the second at four and a half years old; the third at 11 years old; and the final shot given before a child enters university.
Yesterday, students of Sharon Primary School were receiving treatment at Warrens Polyclinic. Some suggested the experience was less than pleasant, complaining that the drops were bitter and the booster shot a bit painful. (CA)
