Plans to get vagrants off street

THERE IS NO REASON why vagrancy has to remain a large-scale problem in Barbados.
Chairman of the Barbados Vagrants And Homeless Society, Kemar Saffrey said he was confident the society’s work would change the face of vagrancy in Barbados and particularly in The City.
“I would definitely say that one day many of the familiar faces of [vagrants] will be off the streets,” he said, during an interview on Saturday following the official opening of the society’s new headquarters in the Ramsgate Building, Bay Street, St Michael.
Saffrey said the society had been in contact with two of the better known City vagrants – Anthony Fitzpatrick Lynch, alias “Ninja Man”, who is usually seen along Broad Street, and another known as Barry who frequents Bay Street – and they had both expressed the desire for help.
