Commissioner Frederick Waterman will hear evidence when the Commission of Inquiry into the Alexandra School industrial dispute continues on Monday at the Gymnasium of the Garfield Sobers Sports Complex.
Waterman yesterday reminded counsel of the time limitations of the inquiry, which is due to end on August 31.
The Alexandra dispute, dating back to 2006 tensions between principal Jeff Broomes and teaching staff, exploded in January with industrial action led by the Barbados Secondary Teachers’ Union. Prime Minister Freundel Stuart ordered the inquiry after intervention at the top level failed to resolve the matter.
Here, Waterman, a retired Justice of Appeal, informing those in attendance about the Monday start of the hearing.
