WEST INDIES may not be considered powerhouses by many on the international cricket stage, but a leading all-rounder has tipped the Caribbean side as the team to beat at the 2012 ICC World Twenty20.
Australia’s Shane Watson picked West Indies as major contenders to win the event in Sri Lanka from September 18 to October 7.
Speaking to ICC Cricket 360°™, the ICC’s new weekly multi-platform show, produced by IMG, Watson said he believed Darren Sammy’s side’s all-round strength made them favourites for the tournament.
“I actually think the West Indies are going to be the team to beat,” he said.
