The St Paul’s Primary School in Britton’s Hill, St Michael, is receiving a bright new $30 000 makeover thanks to Global Directories/The Barbados Yellow Pages.
The new colour scheme, bright yellow with black trimming, reflects the sponsor’s colours which school principal Sandra Small-Thompson said would stimulate the children to learn.
“The school was dirty before and not a pleasant place for learning, so with these bright colours the children’s learning will improve. It now looks nice and fresh. The children have a better atmosphere and other schools which look dowdy should also get a facelift.”
However, there was an issue over whether the appropriate permissions were sought before the work was started. Small-Thompson said this was a non-issue. (CA)
