MOTORISTS TRAVELLING ALONG Westmoreland in St James were forced to slow down due to flooding after heavy rain yesterday morning.
It was one of the areas across the island suffering the effects of lingering instability following the departure of a tropical wave.
Some motorists decided to take a chance and travel through rising water, while others decided to take an alternative route.
Westmoreland resident Mary Downes said: “Every time it rains, the water is very high because of the debris that comes down and blocks the drains, [which] are too small. Some of the residents in the area come out and try to clear the area so that the water can flow freely.”
MET officials said the heavy showers and thunderstorms should improve by today. (RL)
