THE BARBADOS UNDER-15 cricket team is expected to do “very well” and end its eight years without a regional championship.
Adrian Donovan, a senior coach at the National Sports Council (NSC), believes that the 14-member squad, which leaves the island today for St Kitts to take part in the WICB Regional Under-15 Competition, is a quality side that can repeat the success of 2004, when the tournament was staged in St Vincent.
In an interview with NATIONSPORT, Donovan revealed that most of the cricketers had been together for over three years. The nucleus of the side played when Barbados won the Regional Under-13 Competition the last two years.
This, he said, boded well for team chemistry since it was well balanced and boasted the “crème de la crème” of this island’s young cricketers.
