Soca thrills on the Hill

The crowd at Soca On De Hill went down memory lane with a cohesive set from big band krosfyah. They were in a party mood with Crank Da Motor, Sugarcane, Dip Down Lown, All Night Long, Sak Pase.
The 2012 Crop Over tunes were played such as Chrissening, Get Loose, Don’t Trust Me and more.
The Farley Hill crowd lapped up music from earlier artistes such as Hannibal, Sanctuary, Dutty Android, Rameses, Kirk Browne, Peter Ram and RPB.
The warm weather matched the mood of the crowd who danced along to every song. Rags and flags were used mostly to wipe sweat than to wave.
Photographers and cameramen were kept busy not only capturing the artistes but the fashionable and not so fashionable soca junkies.
At 4 p.m a big ominous cloud gave some relief from the oppressive heat but not for long. A solid hour set from krosfyah was enjoyed by the swelling well behaved crowd in the general area and the VIP section.
Coolers, picnic baskets, small lunch bags with drinks and food to satisfy appetites that the music left wanting.
Swappi threw water on the sticky crowd, Skinny Fab had sound problems and threw a tantrum on stage. Kes The Band out of Trinidad performed a solid hour and half and Soka Kartel and show closer Hit Rick thrilled the multinational crowd. (NSH)
