High praise for Mason family

THE MASONS OF ST PHILIP are a prime example of a strong family unit – which is more important than ever in these  tough economic times, says Minister of Housing and Lands Michael Lashley.
Himself a member of the Mason clan, Lashley was speaking to the DAILY NATION yesterday after  a church service at St Catherine’s Anglican Church in St Philip,  which was on the family reunion  list of activities.
“Families need to come  together particularly in this uncertain economic climate  to pool their resources and hold each other’s hands.
“The state in itself cannot do it all alone, but strong families like the Masons and others in Barbados can come together and act as  a cushion to ease some of the hardships,” he said.
Lashley praised the Mason family for its contribution  to the development of Barbados, highlighting Sandra Mason who was recently Acting Governor General of Barbados, but lamented what he called snobbish attitudes  in society.
