THERE ARE a large number of youths in the region who cannot find their place in the societies which educated them.
And according to Prime Minister Freundel Stuart, it is the main challenge facing the region.
Stuart, who has lead responsibility among CARICOM heads for the single economy, told delegates to the Caribbean International Youth Convention yesterday that the young nations of the Caribbean had a lot of enthusiastic youths with a whole set of challenges to “the very faith [of] our young people and their confidence in the future”.
“That makes it necessary for us to hold their hands and to make sure that we take them through these very difficult periods and help them on to a mature and wise adulthood,” he told the congregation at the Church of Christ/Christian Church in Jezreel, St Philip.
